It's a blizzard outside and the power is flickering. How do I keep them warm if the power goes out?

Do you have a hot water bottle? If yes fill it up with boiling water, wrap in a pillowcase to insulate heat and prevent scalding. Or do you have any hand warmers? If yes activate if power goes out and place in a glove or pillowcase. Put towels or a child proof stuffed animal in brooder, chicks will snuggle up to it.

That happened to me last month. My babies were 7 days old when the power went out. Luckily I have a friend with a wood stove. They sat in her living room for 4 days until my power came back on.

If you think it's going to be long term, make a plan with soebody. Of course you never know when it will be long term...

A brick heated on the hearth & wrapped in a towel will give them heat for a couple hours. If you don't have a fireplace, put some in your oven now while there's power.

You're welcome. I should have added that they are all healthy & growing & are now outside in the big girl pen.
