Baby chicks got trampled by baby ducks & wet. Their feathers have dried hard & look horrible. Any suggestions for getting the "hard" out of their feathers? It's like putting your hand in a bucket of mud, then letting it dry.

I had one come out like that because my humidity was low. I put him in a warm bath (in a soup bowl) and gently rubbed his feathers. Then blow dry on low from a distance... but still warm. Bundled him in a little hand towel and the little dude hasn't left me alone since!

4 weeks later and he's the first out of the brooder to hop on my arm.
