Went through a 50# bag of fermented chick starter in just one day short of 2 weeks. At this point I'm feeding 93 chicks and expecting 50 more tomorrow.

April 1st - April 13th: 50# of feed consumed for 93 chicks.

April 13th - April 18th: 50# bag of flock raiser feeding 93 chicks until 4/15 and then feeding 146 (of which 8 are layers)

93 - 2 weeks old - feathering out very nicely, getting feathers on their backs and legs. Coop has been in the mid to low 20's this last week, heatlamps still on high.
53 - 5 days old

That is one full brooder! Hope you are putting all that poop to good use!!

LOL..yep, I have a big ol' compost pile!! I have 53 hens in my coop so we get lots of poop.

Good thing I have a huge brooder, huh!?! All the chicks in the big brooder will be going outside to the tractor next week and they will stay in there for a few days and then I will open it up and they can free range within the fenced area. I will then move the 53 little ones that are in my basement out to the brooder. :) I should be in really good shape and have my winter weight off of me soon with all the running up and down stairs I'm having to do!!

4/26/2013 - Moved broiler chicks to the tractor. They are 4 weeks old today and have feathered in very well. Moved the 53 - 2 week old broilers to the coop brooder.

Started 4 week old chicks on fermented grains along with fermented Flock Raiser. I'm going to start mixing equal amounts of fermented grain and dry Flock Raiser.

Opened up my 5th bag of Flock Raiser today.
