Baby chicks

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Congrats on your new babies! Generally it's best to wait until they are 6 weeks old, these first few weeks are so important to get all the nutrients out of their chick starter so they can develop healthy immune systems and organ growth. After that you can once a day offer up a tiny bit, no more than 10% of the diet. Sprinkle some parakeet grit on the food, just as if you were salting something.

Enjoy your babies, if you have any questions about them along the way, be sure to ask. Welcome aboard!

Hello, my name is Barb. We have had hands in the past, but they were older when we got them. Now we have three week old baby chicks and they are doing wonderful. I am wanting to know when we can start feeding them vegetable scraps. Thank you.
