Why do my chicks keep digging in there cage are they stressed?

They are "bathing" or scratching.

I think that is just their natural instincts kicking in - scratching in the dirt then scooting back a step or two to find bugs to eat! I was fascinated when mine started doing it - no mama to teach them - just wired that way!

Ya mine do it all the time. They kick their bedding into their water and I always have to clean it out :/ but they aren't stressed just exploring

Yeah I have to change there water constantly cause they kick everything in it, there fun critters to watch hah

I will put a small wood platform for the feeder and waterer so they cant kick anything into it.

Mine do it all the time,them girls sure can make a mess lol.
