We recieved our baby duck 2 days ago. Upon opening the box we discovered one dead. The next day we lost another one and then today we lost another. The 2 that have died at our home have been very lathargic and then just fall over and die. I have the proper food, a heat lamp and plenty of water. Any help would be appreciated

the temp is 70+ in the room and under the lamp it is warmer, but they are huddled away from it. Food is baby duck crumbles. No i have not contacted the Hatchery yet, I was wondering if I need to do that. I used Cackle Hatchery in Lebanon MO because I was able to get my Barnevelder chicks from them and they are doing just fine.

food is a new bag, we actually had ducks untill a week ago, when a dog got into the flock that was a month old and we lost all of them. Bedding is sawdust animal bedding, not a lot but enough to soak up the water they get everywhere. Yes to the drinking too. The only thing I am doing different this time from the other flock we used shredded paper and this time the sawdust. We hadn't lost a single duck with the others. Different hatchery though

Very sad for your losses. I hope the hatchery has a clue . . .
