I have one brooder waiting to be put together one red heating lamp. Ducky feed, a draft free area!
what else to I need?

Chandi

Wood shavings, a waterer where they can emerge their whole head (because they get stuff stuck in their nostrils), and also a brooder where they can't jump out of it.

Lots of cuddles too

A thermometer to check and be sure that brooder is warm enough for them...the heat lamp won't help if it isn't heating part of the brooder enough for them. I have read a good temp to start at is at least 90 degrees.

Have shavings, have container for water have theometer. Anything else? Can we get our babies tomorrow?

What kind of ducks? I use a quail waterer for my bantams and I put a towel down in my brooder for the first few days so they learn to eat the food and not the shavings and non-medicated food. The others have the rest covered.

I believe they are rouen ducks. TO be honest, we have chicks on the wayand didnt plan ducks. My kids LOVE ducks and chickens (not sure why lol) and we are going to go get teh remaining 2 ducks from TSS because I wasn't thrilled with they way the ducks and chicks were being cared for. I have non medicated food. I have a brooder for them all ready to go, I will need more guidance as they grow. I know they are REALLY MESSY lol

What area of the house do you have your babies ina nd how long do you leave them there? We have 3 acres of yard and another 30+ acres of pasture with a pond and they will have a pool this summer too. I've never had ducks, but these guys are TOOO CUTE!!!
