Hey all.
I found this baby fledgling at a friend's farm s/he is not hurt but my friend has a cat prone to killing LOTS of birds.
I couldn't find his mom he was calling to her but she didn't come for about an hour so I am taking him home.
I have raised crows before but they have much bigger beaks and I'm not sure what to feed this one. So suggestions are welcome.
He also has lice as I was holding him and there were tiny lice on my hands I have diatomaceous earth would that work to get rid of them?

Depending on the bird, it could be protected under the Migratory bird act, which makes it a federal crime to be in possession of eggs, chicks or adults of certain species.

Please contact a local wildlife rehabilitator and hand it over.

I found the same bird in my yard. i have raised them before, but this time decided to set under a bush in case he calls his mom, and she comes back. He was gone next day. Don't feel bad about touching baby birds, the mother cannot smell you. Birds cannot smell.

My friend who's farm I found him at is a very long car drive away I am now home and I Fed him some water with a syringe.

You may have to pry open the bill, but once they are used to eating that way, they will open their mouth on their own
really stick your finger, full of food in their mouth not just on the edge.
