My friends who I live with, brought home two goslings a few days ago. They have raised geese before, but I have not. These two are tufted geese (Roman?)
I've noticed some different/unique behavior, and perhaps it's just these two particular goslings. They seem to have imprinted on all of us, and love to chase after us around the yard and stuff. But the little ones don't seem to care or interact much with each other. If we leave them both alone in their "cage", they will both cry for a while and then usually go take a nap.
Personally, when I've raised ducks before—and also when my friends have raised several ducks—as long as they have had one or two friends to hang out with, they seem to be just fine when left alone with each other.
Is this behavior more specific to geese than ducks? Just curious. Otherwise, they seem to be quite happy and healthy, roughly a week old.
