My 2 month old goat is not eating. She acted a little picky this morning but she has done this before. So I did not think alot about it. But when I just went out to feed them, she sniffed it and would not eat. I tried to hand feed her and she still would not eat. She has been just great. Running and playing and being a baby. I am so worried. Is this normal or what should I look for? Her gums and eyes look fine. No runny nose, stomach is not bloated. Please help me.

Has she had her vaccinations? Are there any poisonous plant's she could have gotten into? What does her normal diet consist of? Has she been dewormed? Any fever? Is she up and about as usual or laying around a lot?

Sorry for all the ?'s, lot's of things it could be.

She has all her vaccinations. Not any that I know of. She is in her normal fenced in area where she has been for about 1 month. She still drinks milk from her mom, eats hay at will, Noble medicated goat pellets. 1/4 cup 2x a day. Minerals and baking soda whenever they want it. Yesterday she was up and running. She was out this morning for awhile but than it started to rain. No fever. I felt her belly and it is soft. Like normal. This is our 1st baby and I am so worried. Thanks for answering.

Have you seen her nursing today? If she is doing that and otherwise seems ok then I think I'd just keep an eye on her and see if she gets back to eating as usual by tonight or tomorrow. Since she's a baby if she's not eating what you consider normal by tomorrow then you might have the vet take a look if you have one that knows goats. I'd also watch to see if she's pooping/peeing normally.

How are things now? Any better?

I would give a bit of pro bias and try and get some gatorade in him to give him some energy to want to eat. It might lift him up enough to eat a bit.

She seems to be feeling better today. She did eat this morning. Took her almost a 1/2 hour to eat but she ate. Thank you everyone for your help. I really appreciate it.
