I am raising 7 baby mallard ducklings. They are now 3 1/2 weeks old. Ironically, 2 of the 7 were born different colored. We were happy to see our cute lil "different ones". However, we have noticed that the grey one seemed to be real different. This morning I decided to spend a little "bonding" time with him only to note that "Alfalfa" cant seem to stand without falling over and having difficulty getting himself back up. Also, with eating and drinking, he throws his head backward, making himself loose his balance and falling over even more so. And he spends most of the day sleeping. I've decided to keep him away from his siblings inside in a container and watch him closely. I'm concerned that he's not going to make it and it breaks my heart. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What are you feeding your ducklings? because if it's chicken starter it may be that he is in need so some niacin which chicken feed doesn't have enough of, some ducklings do fine without it but some need it. You can by plain ole niacin tablets or capsules at just about anyplace and crush or ope and pour into his water. Just make sure to get the no flush or time released. Ducklings deff in niacin can show neurological problems and have difficulty walking. If it is niacin you should noticed a difference in a few days. Hoping the little one makes it. Good idea to keep him with you till he has had a few days of TLC.

Thank you so much Ms. Lydia. I will try that today. As of this am he is still very wobbly and weak. I have kept him away from his siblings, by keeping him inside with the family. My chocolate lab (bless her heart) is so very confused, wondering why I am spending so much time with this lil fella. Well off to the store I go to get some niacin capsules. Keep your fingers crossed that this corrects the problem. We've become quite attached to the lil one
