Baby peas around the male? YEAH of NEH

I have two females sitting on eggs with 6 hatched so far. The females are penned off but the babie being small have already managed to get through the wires when the male was outside..Is the male going to be safe around the baby chicks or how long do I need to keep them penned off?

oh jeez. I find far too many questions on here not answered. But honey what I can tell you about chickens is that you just don't know. Some roosters are ok some might peck the babies. I say just keep an eye out. With chickens I take away the eggs that haven't hatched after 24 hours. Good Luck

Every year I let the hens raise the last eggs of the season in the breeding pens and have never had a cock harm the chicks. The hens will co-mom the youngsters and the cock will either ignore them or help raise them.
