feeding time reminds me of the "hungry hippo" game

My 20 button chicks went through two whole bags of half egg and biscuit and half chick starter in two weeks. Thats 5 kilo's. And then the mealworms I give them as treats every 3 days - $13 for a large salad tub. Wow that all for tiny little button quail. A single bag of the half/half usually last my 4 adults a month and half to two months.
Maybe its the fact that they flick the stuff everywhere and that they are growing.
Also my canaries have discovered that it tastes better than their finch seed and they don't have to shell the seed.
