My daughters found a cold (Wild) goose egg on the road a month ago (we have them all over the property on our pond). We put it under a broody chicken, and today it hatched (it started opening about 4 hours ago, fully out of the egg In the last hour). When we went to check it and moved the chicken, the chicken started pecking the little goose and made its beak bleed. So, we brought it inside and put it under the heat lamp (we already have month old chicks inside). It is separated from the chicks. We have no idea what to do next! We have never had chicks hatch, only raised them from a few days old. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! We are not sure if we should let it join our chicks in a day or two, or keep it separated. I assume we buy special food for a goose? Our plan was to let it stay with its “chicken mom”, but apparently that is a bad idea.
**it’s actually 88 degrees, we just moved the thermometer.
