Has anyone tried a bachelor pad of roosters and drakes together? I have a pad of four cockerels, two at 29 weeks, two at 21 weeks. They’ve been doing great together for the most part.
I will be rescuing three drakes. I don’t know how old they are, but I suspect they were this spring’s hatch, because one of them just got his curl.
I’m throwing around the idea of bringing the drakes into the roo pen.
Thoughts?

Different species. It doesn't work here to mix roosters and drakes, but we also have hens of both species. Drakes can do damage to roosters if they get a hold of them. Maybe plan on two separate areas. I keep my ducks and chickens in separate areas most of the day. Sometimes they free range together and that works out well.
