This story has a happy ending. I had two young dark Brahmas and a Black Copper Maran outside in a partially covered cage/run. This is where I usually put the newbies during the day and bring them in at night. Well, this time I forgot to bring them in and it rained all night! When I got up and went to let everybody out for the day, one of my little Brahma babies was in a puddle of water, cold and stiff. I was sooo upset and guilty. I took his little body out of the cage and went on to feed and water the other guys. When I went to pick his body up to bury it, he breathed! I took him in the house, toweled him off and put him under a heat lamp. By the end of the day "Puddles" was up and running around. That was about a month ago, and now he is getting to be a huge and beautiful boy. I am so happy things turned out okay with him!
