My largest pekin "quackers" somehow got his tonail ripped off. It's not completely off but barely hanging on. I noticed red on his feathers a few days ago. Check him over and couldn't find anything wrong. Today I saw him walking on the porch and little blood footprints trailing behind. Upon closer inspection it appears he caught the toenail on something. It's not bleeding profusely and I will put some flour to stipend it. Any advice on what to do going forward? I tried to get a good picture but he wasn't having it.

I would take him inside and soak the foot in a warm Epsom bath. Cover the toe in triple antibiotic cream without painkillers, and wrap with vet wrap. Change dressing every morning and night. When my duck did his, she was much better in 5 days or so of treatment. I added extra vet wrap during the day to add cushion for her. Let me know how it works out!

My duck did the same on both feet at different times. I just cleaned her up and it took a while but they grew back. It didn't seem to bother her so I would just suggest trying to keep clean the best u can and keep an eye out for infection until it heals. Good luck :)
