Backyard chickens....finally.

Just got the word from the city, there is a special use permit I can get for a small flock, but I was told by the same person that the city has no problem with laying hens as long as the nieghbors do not complain. I was told if the neighbors complain just get the permit. Going to start on my coop this weekend. I am new to rasing chickens so I will be seeking advice.
