Hello all. New chicken owner here. I'm planning to let my chickens forage around the yard but wondering if there are any plants/mushrooms I should keep an eye out for that may harm the chickens? I know people say "chickens know what to eat" but after seeing my chickens eat cardboard and pdz my confidence in their judgement is not high lol.

Also, I have some of these berries growing around my backyard. Any idea what they are?

Check on a plant ID site, or on your Georgia thread.
Generally, if given a lot of choices, chickens avoid most toxic plants when free ranging. If you don't have a lot of that plant, you could snip off the berry stalks so they aren't available.
Many birds can eat moderate amounts of berries and seeds that are toxic, at least for us. That's how plants like poison ivy and deadly nightshade spread!

Instinct works very well even on domesticated chickens. They are not likely to ingest a poisonous berry, most do not taste very good for a reason, basically chemical warfare by the plant to protect its seeds. Other plants have evolved specifically for ingestion by animals and birds to spread the seed and even ensure it sprouts. And it gets fertilized!
