My pigeon is eating well and behaving normally just a bit more lethargic than usual. But just her droppings are like this. Sometimes they get normal but its the fourth day ive noticed his abnormal droppings. Any idea?
Today was really watery too.

I gave her some apples to eat because my friend said she might be like this because I only give them seeds to eat. She isnt eating apples at all.
Im so worried.

Hi, it looks like something is definitely upsetting the pigeon’s digestion but at the same time it also doesn’t look super serious. Mine have droppings like that once in a while.

I don’t think the pigeon will eat the apples. Maybe if they were diced up into small pieces. Either way, a seed only diet is not as bad for pigeons as say, a parrot. Pigeons are pretty strictly granivores.
Are you able to buy some apple cider vinegar to add to her water? In the U.S. we use a product called four-in-one which comes in a pill or powder form that treats 4 different bacterias. You could try adding something like that to the water as well.

Thank you so much for replying!
I don’t have the 4 in 1 medicine you speak of in my country… so whenever they get sick, I only have this forum to rely on sadly.

he is acting normal and eating fine too. But his droppings looked like this again. I started giving them ACV. I give it to them once every week or every two weeks.
From your experience, what do you think is wrong with these droppings?

The droppings in the second series of photos look much healthier than the green-colored ones, it just seems like the pigeon drank too much water. The color is fine.

There are a number of reasons this could happen, when I give mine pelleted feed they drink much more water and have looser droppings than on a seed diet. Another time eatery but otherwise healthy droppings can occur is when they’re feeding squabs. :)

Their droppings are back to normal now! Healthy colour and maintaining its form and uricate.

I give them seed diet only along with calcium grit and once a week or two weeks ACV water. I was wondering , should I give them a bit of vitamin b complex here and there to assure balance ? Or let it be?
