BAD egg...and no we don't have a rooster!

Well, she's a young hen - may not have her rhythm yet.
I see a lot of blood spots in my hens when they first start laying in the spring(I have 11 hens so I don't know if one lays 3 in a row). I had one that laid an egg with a flat side for weeks and then was perfectly formed.

I think it will pass and she will be fine. Just keep an eye on her behavior for a while.

will do, she's been laying for months and I can tell her eggs apart, so I know for sure these are hers..

I'm guessing there isn't much you can do, except wait and see what happens. I would try not to worry too much. She obviously has a little something going on internally. It may sort it's self out, as things often do.

If it progresses to something more problematic, I think you will begin to see other signs in her. If it resolves and she heals on her own, she will be fine and her eggs will look normal. The other possibility is that she could also be fine and just lay eggs with blood spots or meat spots occasionally in the future. I don't think there's really any way to predict these things, sometimes.

It's really good that you know which eggs are hers, so you can just check and see how she's doing. I hope she heals up and does better, soon.
