bad eye

can someone please tell me about this? it is hard like bone. been there a few weeks. he shakes his head but that is the only symptom i see. i tried to aspirate it with a large needle but got nothing.

thank you for the link. its not coryza, he doesnt have any drainage, its been like this for a few weeks now. very active. feels like bone. the only symptoms are head shaking and i believe thats from the pressure.

I wanted so much to help you that, for lack of a better idea, I did some searching on Google images for "chicken swollen eye". Now I feel like I need a shower and a valium. Anyway, I did see a photo that looked similar to yours but the only info given was that someone suggested it was a fungi and to treat with terramycin.
Wish I could be more help.

those little blue pills can work wonders sometimes. haha

i wasnt able to find anything. i looked up fungal infections in chickens. i am beginning to wonder if it could be a broken eye socket.

It's been 2 days now, has the swelling gone down? Have you given meds, if so, what did you give her. Finally, is there a foul odor coming from the nostrils or eye/head area?

there is nothing and its been a few weeks now. came up overnight and has stayed the same. really hard and head shaking . thats it. he mates the hens, runs from the other roos when he gets caught, eating , drinking fine.
