My broody cochin was very rough with the 2 2 day old chicks I bought for her.
I was worried she was going to kill them, so I took the babies away. I was desperate, so I offered them to my Japanese bantam who had 3 3 week old chicks herself. She shoved them under her right away, and even gave me a good peck for touching her new babies!
I am so happy she loves them that much, but will the age diff. between her chicks be a problem?
