Our 1 year old turkey Theodore was brutally attacked last night with our entire flock.

We lost 8 chickens. Theo is our only turkey. We are thinking coyotes attacked. They attacked right after we left for town. They attacked in the 30 mins we were gone.

Theo looks like he got trapped between the back of the coop and a cage we had out there for emergencies.

We cleaned his wound last night with an alcohol soaked washcloth. Picked and snipped bloody feathers from around the wound.

We gave him some Pedialyte asprin infused water that helped with his pain and hydration. We put an old pillow case over him so he wouldn't pick at the wound.

He slept in our bathrub last night away from the chickens.

Warning: bloody photos ahead.

He is pooping good and eating. He is drinking good.

His wing itself is not injured. Its just under his wing. It looks a lot better than it did yesterday.

I am just unsure how to treat or what to do after this with Theo.

He still gobbles and still loves to cuddle.

Any and all help is appreciated!! Thank you

I would carefully clean it and then put Blu Kote on it. Turkeys are very resilient.

You do need to get a companion turkey for him. Keeping a lone tom with a flock of chickens will eventually prove to be harmful to your chickens.

Will Hen Healer work the same way as Blu Kote? I was afraid to put some on him last night because it was still bleeding and I didn't want to hurt him any more.

And we thought he was a hen but Theo turned out to be a tom! But we will have to do that later seeing as how hurt he is right now.

Update: Theo is now taking a fat nap.
We grabbed our game camera we had sitting out near the coop to see if we caught any photos of the culprits.

We found one of our missing girls. She had hid in a tree to escape whatever it was that attacked them.

I will update you on what actually attacked our flock and will be updating on Theo.

Also checked our traps and found two coyotes. Felt a little better after that.
