About 3 days ago a hen from our neighbor came into our yard. The whole butt-end was exposed-no feathers and was not bleeding but red right under the skin. One of the neighbor's boys came over and told us they have many chickens and this one was at the bottom of the pecking order. Poor girl! If she comes over to our yard (for sancuary), again I will buy her if it's OK with my daughter and the owner. I'm asking what could I put on the chickens' skin (home remedy), to heal it-does anyone know? Thank you!

If it's just red then it won't need anything. Open wounds can be treated with Neosporin or a triple antibiotic. Chickens have remarkable healing abilities. Small wounds and irritatiobs are rarely cause for concern.
Chickens are social creatures. It's usually not recommended to keep less than a flock of 3-4. Keeping a single chicken as a pet is generally not a way to go.
Your neighbors flock is imprinted with where "home" is. Be aware that there's a good chance she will try to go back at some point. You can change the home print but you can't change the social nature. By herself she will go to other chickens she can see/hear instinctively.
