I have a few of my older hens (about 4 years old). that have bare bottoms!!

Is this something to worry about?

Also a few have rough legs....how can I tell if its age, or scaly leg mites?

Finally....one rooster has a growing bump / small lump on one of his toes. Its is rock hard. But he is using the toe fine and it does not cause any pain to him....he does not mine if I touch it or squeeze it a little.

Thanks.

I don't know about the other isues, but if the chickens have leg mites it's simple to take care of. Take a toothbrush and rub petrolum jelly into the scales. Usually two treatments will cure it.

Noticed that you are in Thailand too. I live in Nan.

Rough scales usually means scaley leg mite. Apply a thick coating of Vaseline or Vicks to the entire leg, right up into the feather line. Lice will cause tail feathers to drop out but so will a molt. Check the vent area for lice or redness. A poultry dust is the easiest way to deal with lice. But be sure to treat twice, 10 days apart.
