Hey my helpful chicken community!
I purchased a hen from a lady some months ago. When I got her she was missing some tail feather, but I was assured these would grow back. Unfortunately in my flock she has fallen to the bottom of the pecking order. Every time she gets new feathers in the other girls pluck them out! Ive given her some time but it doesnt seem to be improving, in fact I think its getting worse. I really dont want to have to rehome her, but I cant let her suffer Does anyone have any tips on getting her feathers to grow in safely? Thank you all!

Put her on gamebird feed for a couple of days

You may want to copy & post in Chicken Behaviors & Egg Laying ...

Have you checked her for external parasites (lice/mites)? You may want to separate her from the rest yet in the same coop; wire cage with food/water or section off with chicken wire a portion in the coop for her .... until her feathers grow back in. Also extra protein (tuna, wet cat food, Feather Fixer, scrambled eggs, etc....)will help her new feathering.
