They are supposed to be about 2 weeks of age right now--I got them to keep my singleton bantam brown red Ameraucana company--and the feed store could not tell me what they were (you have bantams? What breed? . . . "Bantys." . . . Yeah, okay, give me two.) They are also supposed to be pullets, but I'm guessing it's too early to tell yet. Bantam #1 has yellow legs, while Bantam #2 has greenish legs--I'm hoping it's a bantam EE. Any (polite and constructive) thoughts would be appreciated.

Please forgive the dirty fingernails--I'm mortified--I've been gardening . . .

Thanks, Schellie! One thing I forgot to mention and that I couldn't get a pic of because they were both trying to take off to parts unknown, but Chick #1 has a tail that seems set very high compared to the other chicks I've had--it kind of sticks up straight, while others have tilted a bit toward their rear.

I'd hate to think they weren't even bantams, but if they're not I can always sell them at the critter sale . . . any other thoughts on breed?

With all of the posts being made in reply to other threads . . . no one? Really?

I am sorry no one else posted.. I think they are a mix do you know where your feed store gets their chicks, from a hatchery or local breeder.

As far as I know, they get their chicks from Ideal. I guess they could be a mix, but do you think they are even bantams? They seem a bit big to me, but I've never raised bantam chicks other than silkies before and I really don't remember how big they were.

I am sorry not many people have replied but I am not sure what they are, I am going to go look threw the breeds section on here and see what I come up with.
