I have 3 broody runners and one drake (who is being kind of broody himself). They have about 30 eggs all together. The first ones are due to hatch in 5 days. (I've candled them and everything looks good). I plan to sell the ducklings (although I might keep one). I've been planning to get bantam chicks soon and was wondering... Could I just sneak a couple bantam chicks in the nest? Would my ducks care for them? Would it disturb the eggs' incubation? Would it be a mistake to do that because of the size difference? Or would the chicks NEED to be in a brooder? Also, when they're adults, can they be housed together if I put roasting bars and a poop board in the upper section of the house but use the floor for ducks? They don't have food or water in the house; it's outside, only.
