I am getting ready to cut the Chickie door into my coop. I think the largest one I will have is a Bantam Brahma (2 1/2 lbs?). What is the minimum size door that will be effective for them?

Thanks,
Julie

Hi from Ga. You might consider a doggie door. They come in different sizes.

Hi, I would think 8" wide and 12"-14" high would be fine. My full sized girls crowd the door upon opening in the am and I have seen two at a time try to exit. My door is 13" wide and 18" high for standard breeds and they can go ut by twos if they want. No sense in making it too small that they will have to squeeze outta it. Just make sure it is secure when closed as with the rest of the area they sleep in. Hope this helps.
