my almost two year old Dutch bantam, Bantam, wasn’t running to greet me like she usually does, so I looked for her and found her under the coop on her side. She was extremely gritty from the dust bath she had just taken and my hens usually kind of flop over after a dust bath but aren’t hurt. I picked her up and brushed her off and let her go, she walked a few feet and then kind of dropped down slowly onto her side and then her legs started shaking pretty hard. A hen came by and scared her and she jumped up, ran, and then did the same thing. She laid an egg just yesterday, isn’t molting, her crop feels great, no injuries or illness that I could find. I would have thought this normal because all my hens do this but the shaking is puzzling me. She often shakes but it was pretty hard this time. She seems normal now and isn’t doing it anymore but i would like to know what was going on and if it’s something that should have proper attention next time if/when it happens. Thanks!
