I have 3 Rhode Island red hens that are 4 months old they currently live in a 8 foot by 6 foot chicken run with a average size coop to sleep in . There has been A Bantam rooster running loose in my neighbourhood that has finally found my Hens. The rooster has been living at a empty lot in a tree down the street should I try to let it in with my babies I'm guessing its the same age or close to it. Is it safe to have it in there being different breeds ? Also would it go nuts since its used to free ranging all the time ? Thanks in advance.

You might want to quarantine him bit before you introduce but if he has been on the outside of their run with only wire between them it sort of becomes a moot point. You can always try and see what happens. I'm assuming it would work better with a bantam roo than the other way around. If you're worried about size lots of people have bantams and large fowl together. My bantams have their own coop but they free range with the others.

Im new to the Chickens care whats the best way to treat my all my chickens they seem fine but I did get them at the Flea Market (well Grandpa did for my son lol) .

There are several choices, and the whole worming/ parasite treatment story has many opinions expressed here, not all backed by science. There are few approved products; permethrin dust for lice and mites (wear a N95 face mask); and Wazine for roundworms. I do use permethrin dust in the coop, but use Ivermectin on the birds for lice, mites, and intestinal parasites, as needed. I never get adult birds from anywhere, but that's what I would do with your birds. Mary
