I have 6 hens, 2 black australorps, 2 dark brahmas and 2 production reds (All standards/large fowl). If I was to add a bantam Golden Sebright Rooster to my flock, would the chicks be bantams, or standards?

I thought about that too...Hi, I've been looking at a similar situation, and from what I can tell, you would get about 25% bantam-ish, 50% halfway, and 25% almost standard. So my conclusion would be that they are all somewhere in the middle, and some will be closer to one or the other. I know it's not much help, but I haven't seen any actual statistics, and I haven't done it (yet) myself. I can let you know in September, though. I will be putting a bantam Cochin over standard columbian rocks, and hoping for fertility.![]()
The only worry I would have with the seabright is that you have rather large standards with a sort of small bantam, umm, fertility may not be as guaranteed as 2 chickens closer in size.
Where there's a will, theres a way!I did t know bantam roosters could get up to standard hens to mate....
I am trying to decide what rooster/roosters to keep and i have both standard and bantams. Is there pros to bantam roosters over standard?
