Hi! We are new to chickens, and went to TS to start our adventure. We had to buy 6 chicks. I got three Barred Rocks. My girls were so excited to pick out chicks, and going against my better judgement, I let them pick their own (straight run) bantams. Now we are trying to figure out what they picked. We have three bantams, the black/white we are pretty sure is a roo (he's started crowing), the other two we are hoping are hens. Attached are a few pictures of each, they are about 8/9 weeks old. Any ideas on what breed? and any guess on the ultimate question... roo or hen? Thanks!

Hi friend first one has me torn best guess silver laced wyandotte or possibly a hamburg. Second I'd say a welsummer and third is a little hard to tell, cream legbar maybe? Theyre still babies so its hard to be for sure, hopefully this helps :)

The first one looks like a Silver Sebright, and I agree it's likely a cockerel (male)
(Hens don't often crow)

The other two... I assume they're some sort of "egger", basically a mix. But I'm not well versed on bantams.

The second one (with all the browns) appears to have female-specific patterns. So that should be a pullet.

I can't tell on the last one.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking Silver Sebright and Dutch Bantam too. But that was just going off pictures people have posted on this thread. The little white I had no idea. We'll see as they continue to grow. 😊
