No they will not lay the same size eggs as standards. Also price depends on so many different things. What breed do you want? Are you looking for Pet,Breeder, or Show quality? It also varies greatly depending on your area.

I have barnyard mix bantam chickens. They lay just as many eggs as large breeds, mine do lay through the winter just not as steady. Their eggs are about half the size of a large store bought egg. I use two to each 1 large egg when i use them to cook. Pricing depends on where you are from and the quality/ breed of bird.

Hi. I live in Maine as well and want Bantam chicks in the spring (2013). I was thinking Cochin Bantams but maybe any bantams would be fine. I want them as pets mostly. Where did you get yours?

I got mine from a friend of mine. Cochin are much more "user friendly" than the Old English type that I have. I can hatch some out come spring if you want babies or will probably have some older birds too. I just got some Large fowl Easter egger chicks so they will be laying come spring. So I definantely wont need all the banties I have now.
