Do you keep your bantam and standard hens together in the same coop and run. Jersey Giants, Cochin etc. Small bantys I know all banties are small. Opinions anyone? Sitting with 2 polish bantams on my shoulder Oops POOP

Yep, I keep all my girls together except for my itty bitty bantam that is half the size of a regular bantam. I keep her seperated because she is so small, and any picking at all, she wouldn't last an hour.

The rest all get along great!

I keep all of my hens together...buff orpingtons and silkies and australorps and bantam brahmas and so forth. They have never had a problem. The bantam brahmas rule the flock, but never in a violent manner. They all stick close together and seem to have no idea there is any difference among them.

Polish seem to be frequently picked upon in mixed flocks. Their crests tend to impair vision and make them the target of aggression from the rest of the flock. By the way, get that poop off your shoulder.

A small chicken with really long legs? That would be my luck........

I have 2 older banties in with 6 two year old standards. At first, everything was fine. But in the last couple of months, the banties must have been showing their age & the young ones have started picking on them to no end. Had to separate them.
