In reply to the original question, here's been my experience.
We had 5 standard breeds along with 1 little welsummer bantam all together - they were all roughly the same age but once my standards became 2.5wks old they were HUGE compared to her & as a result she got really trampled - but not picked on which is what I worried about initially. They all got along well I just felt bad that she was more like a toy ball in there than a chick, so we went & bought some more bantams and separated them. She's much happier now & my older boys & husband are planning a bantam sized coop for them as I speak!
Plus I got to go buy more chicks so I'm not all that sad about the change
