bantams lay at same age as reg. hens?

got my 1st bantams this spring. have a few hens. do bantams lay at the same age as reg. hens? my bantams are at 17 weeks now and my reg. hens a few weeks younger and i got a 1st egg from them today.

In general, Most chickens mature between the ages of 18-24 weeks of age. Was it a bantam that laid? Congrats on your first egg!

it was on the small side but still too big for the bantams. got a varied flock of barred rocks, barnevelders, leghorns, silver laced wynadottes,a mille flleur/polish cross, siberian bantams, golden and silver sebright bantams and one other bantam pair i havent identified yet. some came from Tsc some from a local breeder..
