Hello everyone out there, hope you are all doing well.

I have bantams, they have very pale combs and wattles. Especially the hens. One of them did a whole yolk in a poo. Not laying for three days.

I suspect that might be coccidiosis or worms so went to a vet , tests came out negative for coccidiosis and worms.what else it could be that is causing anemia a liver issue or some other bacterial infection ?

They were on amprolium and sulfa drug for five days. Not eating properly. Hens have white coloured poop on their vent feathers. They might have swelling and inflammation in their digestive system. Their poops are not solid . Just runny green tiny poops. Their crips are not emptying properly too. After that sulfa drug . Sulfa group of meficime are antibiotics Right?

What should I do now for anemia? Should I continue with the sulfa drug and quit the amprolium as it's not coccidiosis.

Or should I start flagyl or bactrim ? Antibiotics are just making their crops to slow sown or to have an impaction.

Thanks.

Get them on some probiotics to help balance out overgrowth of yeast from the antibiotics. You can buy some that goes in their water or offer plain yogurt; as severe as it sounds I'd probably do the supplement and the yogurt.

You could try offering some nutridrench as well, to boost their immune systems.

What are they eating and how old are they? Any chance they have external parasites like lice or mite?

I'm sorry your birds are under the weather!:hugs

How can you tell if they have mites or lice? And how do you treat it?
