Banties and Cochins X?

I have some silkies and standard size Cochin's and Aracanas free ranging in the yard,will banties and standard size chickens cross?Thanks

Yes they will. Chicks will have an easier time if the hen lays a large egg: so small roo, big hens. But nature really doesnt care either way

OK thanks,i don't really want my silkies to be crossed,so the only way is to keep them separate from the regular size chickens right?Thanks!

Pretty much....but so long as you dont hatch the silkie eggs, there shouldnt be a problem. Many folks say the roos ignore their silkie hens because, "they don't look like proper chickens"

Or are you worried about the big birds damaging the silkie's feathers?
