Japanese Bantams

Two cockerels: one black mottled, one buff black tail.

What are the chicks likely to look like if they mate with a white blacktail, in each scenario. Do they take on the cockerel's traits?

With mottled: black with leakage.
With buff: sexlinks; black-tailed golden cockerels and black-tailed buff pullets
The only problem with the sexlinks is that the goldens and golds will almost be identical at hatch, but when the begin feathering the males will have white feathers while the females will have buff feathers.

Nicalandia intends for you to plug in the genotype which will help you understand the genetics of the birds.
Black mottled would be E extended black and mo mottled.
Black tailed buff would be e^b partridge and Co Columbian.
Black-tailed white would be e^b partridge, Co Columbian, and S silver.

Are they e^b based? I had assumed they were wheaten based like a black tailed red Cochin Bantam.

30 years ago my BT buff Japs were wheaten based and my BT red leghorns I have now are wheaten based.

Ive had mille fleur on both and on duckwing so its possible that it could be either.
