I have a couple of questions..1 i have astandard size game hen that was laying I added some bantam eggs to her clutch they are all hatching now, will I be able to tell the diff in the bantys when they all hatch or will they all look the same? And do I need to remove the bantys and put them in brooder or will they be OK with the others?

The one time I had mixed bantam and standard sized chicks with a broody, there were some issues. The big chicks could move faster than the littles, and they tended to get left behind at times when free ranging. None were lost, though, so it did work out in spite of some tense moments (on my part as I was watching). Chicks raised together are family, so depending on your breeding plans, separation now may be a good choice, or not. I want my Belgian d'Uccles to hang together, and not cross breed with the big birds, so I won't try large and small chicks together again. Mary

Thank u, and I had originally planned on separating once they was old enough but it probably would be better to while they still new, in ur experience could u distinguish the diff when they first hatch
