bare spots & holes

Each corner of my run is totally bare and they have scratched it to the point, I'm afraid they are going to get down to where I have the wire buried and leaving barely anything between them at ground level. I put some new straw in there and really piled it up in the corners but the next day they had it all scratched away. What can I put in the corners so they won't scratch down so deep?

You can fill the holes with big rocks so they won't use that area.
I put big rock in holes they made that I don't want them to go deeper.

I buried welded wire in the floor and don't have that problem in the corners. In the center of the run, though, I dug several dusting holes for them and they love it-could care less about digging in the corners now anyway.

Good idea with the rocks, have plenty of those around!
