Bare spots

I have 11 barred rock hens and they all seem to be in worse shape than my golden comet hens...they all have large bare spots and some even have bright red rash looking areas in the bare spots right around their crop. Can anyone tell me what might be the cause of it and if it will spread throughout the flock?

Sounds like there is bullying going on in your coop. I'm no expert, but it's going on in my baby chicks. That's just my opinion. Maybe someone could hop In and correct me.

That's what I was thinking as well because I've witnessed the barrels being bully's! The rashy areas were just concerning me somewhat

I'd pay attention to them and see which ones are the main bullies and separate them from the flock for a couple of weeks.

They're going to auction in a couple weeks so they won't be a problem for much longer
