I am wondering If i can put a barn cat in my chicken coop. It is 8x12 and has two separate rooms. Would it bother my chickens?

Once our cat got a good flogging, she leaves our chickens alone but hunts everything else. This is the first winter we haven't had mouse troubles in the house, and she is an outdoor cat. I'm thinking about getting another just for back up. I throw any "presents" she brings us to the chickens. They LOVE it.

Our cats don't bother our chickens. In fact, the hens attack the younger one. But you'll have to try and see how yours react....
X2 my little d'Anvers are the fiercest to the cats. Cats make great pest control.
Do they get chicken poop on them?
Nope, but they get in everything else from rolling in the dirt, and motor oil.

the chickens should be fine, cats.... might get hurt, my cat went into the coop once and was to curios and the hens took her fur out where pecked her. In conclusion if the cat is smart he or she will be fine.:D

I agree with every post. :D I'm honestly more worried about my cats' well-being than the chickens!
One of my barn cats likes to stay in the coop in at night every so often, and it works out great. Though she won't ever since we put our 6-week-old chicks (some of which are OEGBs :p) out there....she's too afraid of them.
Before Mila began spending the night in our chicken coop, we had mice that came out every night to eat feed off the floor. But after a couple days, they were gone. Overall, I think it's a great idea. :)
