Barn stall chicken coop

I have a 12 x 12 stall in a barn that I converted into a chicken coop. Put a ceiling in, built raised floor so I could put linoleum on the floor. My question is, how do I feed the gals? I have a feeder in the run but now I have rats!!

We hang the feeders so the mice can't climb up to them

Do you have barn cats? If not you should maybe try to trap the rats, they can steal your eggs and kill young chicks. Mice also defecate in the food that they eat (your chicken food) and if chickens eat the poop they could possibly get sick.

You could try a treadle feeder.

we have 3 horse stalls in two barns converted to chicken coops. Hanging feeders and feral cats living in the barn have pretty much eliminated the mice, rabbits and woodchucks from the area around the barn.
