Barn stall conversion

Turning my horse stall into a coop. Progress pics so far. Still a work in progress.

Very cool! Chickens will be happy, and barn cats seem to dig it 🐈

You may want to beef up that overhead structure if you plan to use it for storage space, as I'd imagine you would (I would). Currently it would not meet basic construction standards in terms of supporting weight (rim joist connected with fasteners only, no jack stud or support underneath; joist spacing, etc. but mostly it's that outer rim relying on fasteners only)

Thanks! We aren't gonna use the loft area for anything heavy simply for the reasons you stated. Feed buckets and excess fees pans.
