I have some nice Frank Reese pullets growing out right now, parents are big and show winners. One of them has two black blotches in her feathering. Obviously this is a fault. My question is: is this something that just crops up, or do I want to pull her from the breeding pen when I want to hatch next year?

I don't show, nor do I plan to. But, if I'm going to keep and breed birds, I want to do the best I can.

Not at the moment. It's the typical black splotch, about marble size, on her chest. I managed to find a thread that said it may not be present after her molt, so that's encouraging. Just curious if it's a no-no to breed from her :)

I will check in the Standard of Perfection, but if I remember correctly, few black feathers are aloud on Barreds.
I have same line Rocks and some hens do have a few on them. The older they get, the more black feathers they sport, I will say - 5-6 feathers on chicken, but no all of them.
