Barred rock boy or girl?

4 weekish barred rock chick. Wattles are just starting to show. Is the little one a girl or boy?

That one is tough! It has the feathering of a female, but the wattles and comb of a male. I would probably guess male, but that could be wrong.

That is true! I didn't think about the leg color! I would agree that it is likely a female. I have 3 females and one male barred rock that are about the same age.

The coloring is pullety, but I'm thinking cockerel.

Where did you get the chicks. Ours came from agway and do look like they're growing the same.

That's what I am thinking too... I got them from a local feed store, not sure what hatchery they receive chicks from.

agree with Bantam Lover - ones like this are harder to sex - give it some more time

here are the two babies at 4 weeks, any ideas on sex yet - colors seem similar - are legs dark enough for females? if you look at the combs, one is getting a tinge of pink in one day - is that how fast they change?
