These are two of our barred rock chicks. They are two weeks old. The one on the right has very scraggly wing growth compared to the others. The down on its back is scares too. Also has a naked butt. We had to separate for a few days because of everyone picking on it and pecking its naked hiney. We put on the blue kote to protect irritation from pecking and hides the redness. Any ideas why this chick looks so disheavled compared to others?

They look beautiful and more importantly "normal". No worries here, they're just growing their feathers. Go see the pictures of chick progression on my blog. It will completely put your mind at ease!

This is our Barred Rock (same as small one in picture above), now well over 6 weeks old. Very little growth and very odd feathers. Looks like it may have frizzle in it. When you lift her wings, which curl outward, the thigh area is pretty much bald. She is in with 3 week old bantams because we couldn't move her outside with the others due to lack of feathers.

Hmmmm. I really don't know why that baby doesn't seem to be progressing. Perhaps you should post something in the Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries and Cures thread.
